Week of April 8 - 12

Good Evening -

On Monday, all the second grade teachers got together and chose one logo design and slogan to use for the school's carnival this year, and the winning design belonged to Baron (from our class)!! Congratulations to Baron! The rest of the class did an amazing job with their designs and slogans as well. Please feel free to come into our class to look at their designs before or after school.

For the next two weeks, in the following subjects we will be working on…
Reading: Character and setting, main idea  Language Arts: Different kinds of pronouns, contractions Math: Review notation and equivalencies for money amounts, review estimation, dollar-and-cents notation, entering money amounts into a calculator and interpret calculator displays, compare prices and solve problems about price differences Science: Investigate the effects of an object by increasing or decreasing amounts of light, heat, and sound energy, matter, changing states of matter, physical and chemical changes Social Studies: How advertisers influence audiences, positive and negative effects of advertising, the legal and moral responsibilities of advertisers, advertise Robert’s Carnival through print, radio (announcements), and television (video) advertisements
Upcoming Events:
Starting next Monday, we will work on preparing our students for the Stanford Exams in May. Each day, we will be using a different assessment to practice all the skills that we have been learning about throughout the year and getting used to the format of the test.
